Hey all,
Gosh I love this game, I just wish I could stop time while I'm playing
so as not to waste so much of it!
Is there a mistake in the otherwise very helpful attack spoilers from
thangorodrim.net? I can't figure out how a 30 lb weapon will cause a
*SUPERB* critical, only a *GREAT* one. Is the formula wrong or is it
the table? Or are there weapons heavier than 30 lbs which I haven't
found yet?

I may have just answered my own question. In the attack spoiler file
the number "P," chance to crit hit, is calculated just before the type
of crit hit is calculated. If P is added to the calculation, a number >
1300 is possible. Is this how the type of crit hit is figured? Can
anyone confirm this?
Your help is greatly appreciated, since my life cannot go on without my
gaining this valuable information.

This is correct. But if you really want spoilers at this level, the
easy way to do it is by source browsing. Just look for the message
strings in the code, and look at the associated calculation. I used to
do it all the time....
Looking at the code, you need a 65 pound weapon to score a SUPERB hit,
and it has a 1 in 650 chance of occurring in that case.
There is exactly one such weapon: Grond, at 100 pounds.
