Anyone heard anything about how Dell plan on supporting the SP2 from
Microsoft. I have been using the test version of SP2 and now the
button on my Dell Inspiron 8500 don't work.

Robert;
Which test version? RC1 or RC2?
What button?
You could contact Dell when SP 2 is released.
Public release could be as early as Monday but as far as 2 weeks away.
MSDN, Beta testers and some partner groups already have access.
You may just need to reinstall the driver.
Many people in the Windows XP newsgroups have access from Microsoft
and have installed the final version of SP2.
You could try posting this to one of the Windows XP newsgroups:
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm Or the Windows Update newsgroup:

I have been using the XP SP2 for over a month now on my Dimension 4600
and have had no problem whatsoever.

It you are an average user it is suggested you wait 30 days before d/l SP2.
I am going to take this time to do some reading about the new features to
make this update as painless as possible.

Actually by September or October all manufacturers should have SP2
incorporated into their preinstalled OS. I would expect that means Dell will
be supporting it but possibly not until they are actually factory installing
themselves.
