I have no doubt that AMD is sandbagging about the Palomino's headroom. I see a lot of people OC'ing T-Birds upwards of 1.5 GHz now. AMD roadmap is vague and calls for 1.7 GHz Pally in second half. I say the Pally has the headroom to reach 2 GHz but they don't want Intel to ratchet up P4 clockspeeds too quickly. I say by the end of the year we'll probably see 1.8-1.9 GHz Palomino's.
Good point, I have an old PI 200 MMX oc@225, 128MB RAM, Voodoo banshee 16MB wich is basicaly an antique. For some funny reason it is more stable and faster than some of my friend's computers. More specificaly DiabloII (3D) runs faster and better than a G4 450+rage128 16MB or a DURON750+TNT
I am still considering a nice PIII or P4 but waiting for DDR RAM support, any idea when DDR will be available for Pentiums ??.
Thats probably the same guys i saw using liquid nitrogen
to get 1.5 out of AMD with kt133. now that the kt133a are here 2.0g wow, though i saw p4 reach 2.2g on some other Japanese site, Man those Japanese dudes are crazy, where the hell did they get liquid nitrogen ?
