I have recently built a new system with onboard realtek HD audio. I am looking for a decent budget 2.1 speaker system with a punch. I have shortlisted the following:

1. Genius SW - G1250 2.1 Multimedia Speakers: Link: http://www.flipkart.com/genius-sw-g1250-2-1-multimedia-speakers/p/itmd3kfy9vycxzmp?pid=ACCD3JZNSMNQHNNM&ref=3343862f-a808-42c4-9a57-9a655e9bc34a

2. Edifier X600: Link: http://www.flipkart.com/edifier-x600/p/itmd8qhnfqz7hjcc?pid=ACCD8QHNQZ7CXG6J&ref=cf1b5331-3498-42d4-9382-b3f617a9a37f

Please help me finalize one of these???

Try this instead http://www.flipkart.com/altec-lansing-bxr1221/p/itmdyvd...

Someone at work has them in her office and they sound pretty good. The two you have, at least I have not heard of those brands. And the Genius review sounds like it was written by an employee of the company and not an owner.

My budget is around 3k. Considering that the speakers you recommended, I feel are a bit underpowered. Can you recommend something else, thanks !!

Don't go by wattage, cheap speakers will sound bad no matter what the vendor states for the power. Usually the power is way overstated from what they actually put out in the usable range.

Even if you want to listen across the room from the computer, the altec lansinsgs I linked will be fine.

These may be louder http://www.flipkart.com/creative-sbs-a335-2-1-multimedi...

I would stick with Altec Lansing, Creative or Logitech speakers for the lower end.
