By using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer - free to download from http://www.mozilla.com and infinitely more configureable than IE. Don't allow it to run riot with add-ons but keep it simple and it will work faster.

Agree with Firefox, do consider installing the adblock plus extension though, takes off a lot of banner ads from various sites, it's wonderful!

All toolbars are trojans. They add some fundtionallity but track your internet usage and report everything back to its creator.
I suggest getting rid of them all.

Man if you are worried about that, if your ISP keeps a log, they can see everywhere you have been I'd guess.
