Hi,
I´ve bought myself a Duron-600 oct/2000, and after 3 months
got bothered with 600MHz... so i´ve o´clocked it to 800mHz (thanx to tom´s hardware...)
I live in Brazil (hot!), so keep in mind that while some of you may complain of the chili snow, me and my computer pass thru another "super-hot-tropical-caliente-32C-summer"(hot!).
So, with 3 additional fans inside my ATX case, i´ve reached the medium temp of 42C. I say medium, because in the middle of the day (hot!), while watching some DivX for testing,
my little Duron reaches even 45-46 degrees (celsius).
I know that the max (theorethical) temp for the Duron is 90C, but i doubt someone can get a STABLE system at 70 or 80C... so, i would like to know if 45C isn´t a little too-high-temp for operating my system...
Sys specs:
AMD Duron 600@800mHz
MSI K7T Pro
Voodoo3 2k @183mHz (WITH fan)
128MB RAM, HD Quantum 20G etc..
+++cooling: voodoo fan, CPU fan (5200RPM, ball bearing) w/ thermal paste. PLUS air entrance fan, exhaustion fan and
other big fan right over the CPU... (i´ve used a BIG fan from the power-supply of my old 486... a good idea, isn´t?)
waiting for the winter,
Thiago (James in english...)
