Stereo-Mix Doesn't Work No Matter What

I've tried absolutely everything to get the stereo mix option on my computer to work. I am able to see it in the sound options, select it, set it as default. But Whatever I do, no noise comes out of it when I try to use it. I have tried changing my outputs around, right now my output is on "Speakers: Realtek High Definition Audio."

The problem can't have anything to do with the drivers, because they're off the disc that came with my motherboard... I have absolutely no idea how I can get this to work, so any help is appreciated.
~Thanks.

Try the latest drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's website. They will be newer than the ones supplied on a CD which may have been sitting in a warehouse for several months.
