I am mired in the quagmire of trying to choose a netbook for my college student. She wants to be able to run Word, Power point, and excel and surf the net. Has requested long battery life and doesn't like fingerprints. This summer I was told to go with 2G for win 7 or 1g for xp. What is the best machine for around 300 or even less, if possible? Toshiba is out of the question. She currently hates her Toshiba laptop. Could be it was originally loaded with Vista. Thanks.
Sorry to say that a 'Netbook is fine for surfing the 'Net, email and social networking. But when you start talking about using MS Office programs (Word/Excel/Powerpoint) you're really pushing a 'Netbook into an area where it's not very comfortable. It will run Word, or Excel, or Powerpoint but will run them with poor performance.
Will the Netbook be the only computer she has access to?
