And I'm never, ever selling un-id'd items again. Ever. I'll at least
wait for pseudo-id, even with mages. I'll buy a scroll of Remove Curse,
and try everything on to speed it up.

"You sold a Pair of Soft Leather Boots of Speed [2, +4] (+7) (k) for 5
gold."

If only I had close to 500k gold...

*EVER!*

Happens to many of us sooner or later. Mine was a potion of
Augmentation, which I found at 50' and sold unID'd. I too have never
sold unID'd items since.

Rotten luck,

Heh. For me, the worst time was in Moria. I'd come back up from about
500'? I had a magic weapon but it wasn't ego or anything. Sold an
un-ID'd cutlass in a weapon shop - turned out to be a Defender.
Arrrggghhhh.
Then I sold the other un-ID'd weapon I'd found, (I mean there was NO
chance of finding two super ego weapons that shallow, OF COURSE).
Goodbye, Holy Avenger.

Luckily this is one of thos lessons we all learn after the first time.
Unless we are severely drunk/hungover.

Well, i just destroy all these early robes and boots and daggers and things,
as long as they aren't from levels with a high feeling.

Maybe i got something nice from a drop, but at least i'll never know.

Werner.

You know, the level where you picked those up should have had a very
good feeling. That's what I usually watch out for.

A good feeling, ynless it was in a monster drop.

Mine was some Death potion somewhere under 500'. Only that I identify by
drinking. But what the heck, I probably played 100s of low level characters in
that session.

I see it more as a tradeoff between id means and pottential gain, and more
importantly, a tradeoff for my play time. If it's unid-ed & squelched, then
it's like it never was. For the unided BoS in case, I don't see how 5 gold
would make any difference in the big picture, so why even bother picking up &
selling those boots?!

"Agreed!
You Have Sold a potion of Constitution for 14 gold."

Same with scroll of Aquirement once. It hurts a while, but it isn't too
bad. Selling BoS hurts much more.
