Hello,
I have bought a new computer with windows 7 operating system, my old computer used windows XP, I am therefore a novice with windows 7.
I have used Quicken 2004 on windows XP but the installed programme will not open in windows 7. I get the message about missing mfc70.dll.
Can anyone offer me a step by step solution to this

Your quicken is to old. Time to update. Luckily quicken is not a very expensive program. You may have another issue after upgrading that your old file is not recognized. Intuit is pretty good at forcing customers to upgrade every 5 years or so.

Yeah you are right. It is better to just upgrade quicken like you said or he can use a free virtualization software like oracle virtual box and install XP, and use it as a virtual machine.
Although upgrading to a newer version of Quicken seems a lot less frustrating to me.
