+stealth and doging were useless, even at high levels they did next to nothing
except give a small mana boost

+disarm just freed up a inventory slot

+magical infusion was nice to fill holes

+I put points into x-bows just to make a decent one, not for offense but I had
a resPois and Nether hole I wanted to fill, I created two out of adamant, one
was silly powerful offence wise but didn't have poison resistance

+I put a bunch of xp into skills just before the final fight to see what the
high level spells would do, and if you get any useful talents at high levels, I
killed Sauron at ~power level 80

+god weapon, used sting for a *long* time for the con

+way too powerful here, mainly as too high a speed bonus, both of these turned
up for a quest to kill Wyrms of Balance, solved con and speed problems, and int
issues

the Arkenstone of Thrain [3] (+2 to saving throw (x5))

Nice variant, really liked the new attacks from many monsters and uniques, like
the ability to create a char on the fly when playing based usually on
equipment. No more choosing to be a priest and then finding all mage books.
Necro has a nice selection of offensive and defensive spells.

With this guy I found +4 mama anulet really early, and couple of decent wands
and pumped skills around that which worked for a *long* time just
popping from one quest to another, as there are lots of decent options and the
magic shop started getting good runs after awhile

The game is however unbalanced in a couple of ways, there is still genocide and
destruction as book spells which are basically game enders, and wraith form is
worse than GoI, almost no monster will do anything when you are in a wall and
you can do what you want to them. Even Sauron just stands there like a nob,
Morgoth will hit you as will a few others than can pass through walls.

I would like to beaming at high levels, as quite frankly you can't be
in LoS very often so it isn't overpowerful, and I would like to see
sparking as another effect. So with a high magic device all rods/wands
beam and get a spark effect which is when they hit a monster there is a chance
it will spark to the next LoS monster and so on. Let the chance be based on
Sorcery skill.

I would also like to see overcharge wands/staves where you could blow themup
to send out a fraction of the changes in one blast, make the percentages again
based on magic device and sorcery and power of wand, this would make all those
wands still be useful at high levels.

Tap magic is a nice ability as it does give some use to all those wands and
staves that litter the floor later on as they become small restore mana items

Dodging is heavily affected by the weight of your gear and the weight
of your pack. It's nearly impossible to be good at dodging without
focusing your character around it. It's more forgiving in the newest
version (b18) though.

Very very good item for a primary Necro. I've only seen +5 ever.

Primary necros can't get restore experience in the version you have.
They can get the talent in the newest version though.

This is true for necromancy - the late game necromancy spells are very
powerful. Priest is still strong but not quite as good, the other two
realms are much weaker in my opinion. Nobody else gets genocide.
