Comp character Brinie the Lich is healed by darkness attacks.

So why is she blinded when she uses a staff of darkness? If anything,
it should heal her ever so slightly. At the very least, the staff's
darkness-induced blindness shouldn't happen, should it? Or is it being
considered as a separate "magic" blindness?
