Reputable Seller/Distributor for Windows 7 Pro 64

Can anybody recommend the cheapest place to purchase a legitimate copy of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit? I am building a new machine for my son who is heading off to college and he really wants to stick with 7 and not install 8.

I've hit Google but the $65 - $85 listings may or may not be legit so I thought I might ask here to see if anybody has a valid source. eBay listings always worry me but if there is a seller that is legit then I'd go that route if need be. Not sure if he might be able to buy it through the campus store when he goes since Microsoft seems to be pushing 8 so hard and not 7.

I'm not looking for technet keys, keygens, or anything illegal. I just want a 64 bit DVD or Valid Key(already have media) that I can purchase to put on this build and be able to update through Windows Update.

I don't guess it's possible to get 8 through ultimatesteal.com and then downgrade to 7 is it?

Thanks to anybody who can offer any insight or recommendations.

Hello... I have had good luck with EBAY a year ago... making sure it was sealed... and alot of Positive feedback... What is Microsofts asking?... You can download from them any version with a try before buy for 30 days.

There are copies of Windows 7 available, both retail and OEM, through Amazon and other reputable vendors. My recommendation: Don't mess with ebay, ultimatesteal.com (whatever the heck that is), or little known places as its too risky that the COA might be blacklisted.

You can't get Windows 7 direct from M$ anymore. They yanked the cord on that when 8 launched.

Thanks for the replies.

Ultimatesteal.com is the Microsoft Store for students. Bought 7 Pro last year for my daughter for $30!

Now that 8 is out 7 isn't available from M$ any longer...that's why I'm looking for a different channel. (edit: I stand corrected...it is available but I'm not paying $200-$300 for it!)

I guess I have a tough time paying so much for 7 when 8 can be had at such a good price...
