Hello xscorpio69;
Alienware does not. But some of the custom or botique laptop vendors do. The cost (in labor and parts) is quite high.
You'd have to also consider - for the price or a really good gaming laptop you could get your self a powerful and upgradeable desktop and a basic general purpose highly mobile laptop.

You know what? That's the most logical argument for getting a desktop I've heard. True, I'd be the hermit (or host) when it comes to gaming sessions with friends as a lot are mobile, but I could get more bang for my buck with a desk top and get a basic laptop for work ect.

Thanks! :lol:

It depends on the model.
For example,I've seen users replacing 5850M in M15x with 5870M.
However,laptops are no where near to desktops in terms of upgrade path

You can always build yourself a LanBox/Frag box size computer with high end desktop parts. You'll see a lot of that stuff at Lan Parties.
Not exactly light weight - but also not too terrible to pack up and move out now and again

At the top end of the gaming laptop spectrum: AVADirect X7200's $3500 desktop in a laptop / Core i7 950 and SLI GTX 460M

At 17lbs with AC adapter it's not exactly a lightweight, but then neither is the performance.

A more realistic price for a top gaming laptop is around $1700 for a 8 lb Asus ASUS G Series G73JH-B1
