If you plan to play games too,then go with the Lenovo model.It has the best VGA between them.

I like ASUS over Dell any day; their G53JW is the next thing on my list :)

All of your computers are pretty much the same, with the only main differences being the graphics cards. Check these for your self at NoteBookCheck here:

5730M>5650M>GT 420M
So if you need good gaming capabilities, go with either 5730M/5650M

GT 425 is better than the GT 330 but still below the 5730 and 5650.
But it's close enough you could get reasonable 3D gaming performance.
1st=Lenovo, 2nd=HP dv6, 3rd=Asus n53jq

Quick question though, I'm looking for a laptop with similar specs, I know ATI has the discrete graphics switching/integrated graphics, but is it actually useful? Which one of these laptops would have the longest battery life?

seeing as there are no prices here for comparison, the lenovo is best because it has the best graphics and cpu as well as an LED screen.

Lenovo is generally pretty good on battery life and ATI cards are more efficient than nvidea cards.

Switchable graphics can be useful because it means you can power down your gpu and use the mobos intergrated graphics and save power. However you will not be able to do very many things with the intergraded graphics and you will probably not notice the difference between having it on or off.
