P4 so grate for game? Not!

What are all the posts about P4 being so awsome for games?
It the vid card that matters! Only if you run your games at 600 x 800 does cpu really matter and who runs there games at that rez? Real gamers run at 1162 x 864 or higher! At high rez the vid card is the limiting factor.

This might seem stupid, but I don't have a good vid card so I don't know.

If I plug a geforce or radeon into my P2 400 will I notice a huge difference? Of course, but will it bottleneck because of the cpu?

dhlucke, if you plug a geforece 2, radeon into a computer with a p2-400 it may not be worth it. The cpu will be the bottle neck for sure and your video card will not run what you payed for. Purhaps a tnt2 or geforce 2 would better suit your setup. You will also save a lot of money too.

Thanks, I'm going to upgrade the whole rig in a couple of months. I was just curious as to the limitations.
