IPS monitor for gaming?

I've been looking around for a good IPS monitor for gaming. Problem is, there's many choices out there and I am not exactly sure what I should be looking for.

From what I gather, many people like the Dell U2410 and the U2412. I've heard pros and cons of both. I don't care to pay more if the product is worth it, but I don't know what I should be looking for.

I am not a photographer, engineer, etc. I am only using this monitor for gaming and web browsing.

main panel types listed by tier (low to high)

tn
va, e-ips
p-ips, h-ips, s-ips

tn panels also come in 120hz and have the fastest response times.
any ips panel has a very wide viewing angle.
s, p or s-ips panels have greater color accuracy.

everything comes down to budget, your needs and preferences.

i try and recommend e-ips panels unless your needs are otherwise.
