Spoilers from Night Below

So in Night Below book II, in the deep gnome interdicted chamber,
there are two iron golems. Rather than kill them, can pcs take control
of them? Any ideas, or are golems completely bound to the mage that
created them (even after death)? Anyone have any experience with pcs
taking control of a golem? I'm not quite sure what to expect right
now, but I'm fairly sure they wont forget about two iron golems once
they get higher level, which would make the City of Glass Pool or
Great Shaboath quite intersting.

And of course, the medusa that tried to petrify them was feebleminded,
many thanks to Ubiquitous :)

I would allow it but the player would have to come up with or create a
unique item or spell to take control from the creator mage. Or a
combination of regular spells such as Dispel Magic then charm monster or
Command or some other similar spells then give % or d20 roll for chance
of success in capturing control or the golem will go bezerk and start
attacking everyone in sight.

So in the Monstrous Compendium for Night Below, for the Shaboath Golem,
there is a reference that the Shaboath Golem "never becomes
uncontrolled in any manner, and in this respect is similar to any iron
or stone golem". Hmmmm. Not sure if this is a canonical reference or
not.
The two iron golems are guarding the interdicted chamber, but a
reference is made that the creator obviously never used the chamber
because she is not there. I think what I will do is have Szandur, the
14th mage who shows up in Book III, be the interdictable mage.

Here are some Brits logging their 3rd Ed. Night Below campaign, quite
enjoyable
