I think it MIGHT be because they MIGHT not make the 800 anymore. I could be wrong though.

Really? With the P3's, the SECC's usually sell cheaper than the FCPGAs at the same speed. Is it different with Athlons?

sorry, but that's no excuse for a markup like that. the Athlon slot a @1Ghz is currently the most expensive 1Ghz cpu on the market according to pricewatch.com, being an older chip it seems to me that ppl are being taken advantage of.

Slot1: $ 237

PIII 1Ghz
Socket 370: $ 258

No the slots cost alot more to produce. They are the same socket chip on a circuit board with circuitry to make them work in a slot a motherboard. This along with a secc2 package makes them cost 50% more.

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing!

WHAT THE SMEG YOU ON ABOUT!

I showed that Intel price their Slot's higher then sockets as well. The prices are there to show that. I'm not showing a TBird vs PIII for price.
