IE homepage & bookmark favourites

When I surf to certain sites, I seem to get my Internet homepage changed automatically and this problem is also prevalent in the Favourites where bookmarks are automatically added. This is very irritating and I have to delete unwanted bookmarks and reset my homepage back to default. Does anybody know whether there is any software that can prevent and block these unsolicited addons?
