Software Auto Updaters???

Hey there guys. Does anyone know of any kind of software (online or offline) that will scan your software that is installed on your computer and check to see if there are any updates? I'd kinda like it to be like CNET's Catchup, but since they've taken it down for some stupid reason, I have to search for an alternative.
