AMD K6-2 475?

Was there ever a AMD K6-2 475MHz CPU? My Gateway system is suppose to have a K6-2 475, but according to the information at their website it says that the MSI AMD Motherboard that is in there is suppose to only support up to 450MHz. Thanks

Yes there is a 475 and a 380, both were designed for 95MHz FSB.

Yeah right. The 380 and 475 worked with 95MHz:

380MHz = 95MHz * 4
475MHz = 95MHz * 5

AMD went through a period of using strange bus speeds. I believe some of their 333MHz chips used a 83MHz bus at 4 times as well. All these chips are easily overclockable, just by setting to 100MHz bus (well, not much of a performance increase, but it seems pretty strange to select this sort of bus speed anyway).

I think their full range was/is 233MHz, 266MHz, 300MHz, 333MHz, 350MHz, 380MHz, 400MHz, 450MHz, 475MHz, 500MHz, 550MHz for the K6-2 and later for the K6-III and their + editions.

~ I'm not AMD biased, I just think their chips are better. ~
