Waves on gray part of viewsonic monitor

I have a Viewsonic VP2365-LED 23-Inch Wide e-IPS LED Monitor, and whenever there is a gray screen or something of similar color, i can see little waves/ripples. I was wondering why it was doing this. It\'s mostly an annoyance more than anything else when I am using lightroom.

Color banding? Are you running 32bit color? Can adjust the contrast and brightness a bit, can help with that as well.
