I hooked up my laptop to my samsung syncmaster monitor (model P2770HD). When I set the laptop's resolution to 1920x1080, the image goes off the edge of the screen. I messed with horizontal and vertical scaling and got it to fit, but the image looked terrible, pixelated, and grainy. I set it to 1680x1050 and it not only fit but it looked normal and working, however, at this resolution, the image seemed very slightly stretched (squares look like rectangles), and it's not as crisp/hi-def as I other HD monitors. I am hooked up through HDMI, and i have messed with the monitors aspect ratios (16:9, fit screen, etc).

My laptop is an HP g6 pavilion with intel HD 3000 graphics card. I want to know if the problem is with my laptop/graphics card, or my monitor. If it's a problem with my monitor, i plan on selling this one and getting something else.

Thanks to anyone who can help. If there is any more information you need from me, i can provide quickly!
