My level 12 HOPr just escaped the Abyss (a visit thanks to a orc
sorceror) and is now enclosed in solid rock as you can see below. I
used up my last teleport scroll in the Abyss, and have no usable
wands. Is there any way of getting out of this, apart from deleting
the current level (first level of the Orcish mines)?

You are a level 12 Hill Orc Priest.
Level 13 requires 29000 experience (8513 points to go!)

The | is a staff of some kind, along with some untested armour and a
dwarven battleaxe, but nothing I can't live without.

I'd just delete the level file (backup the whole lot first!). The Abyss
has always been prone to bugs of this nature: be glad you didn't find
yourself on level -1 of the Hall of Blades. That's tricky to escape, as
there are no down stairs :).
