I'm in the market for a quality gaming headset and after a lot of reading I have come to the conclusion that Seinnheiser pc 360's are a really good buy.

My budget is up to £200.

However I don't think the soundcard in my pc is amazing so would it be worth getting a quality headset such as these?

I'm no where near an audio expert as you can tell so I'm looking for some input and advice. I've heard a lot of raving about the astro mixamp or other similar products too. I have an xbox360, but this purchase is primarily in concern of my pc gaming so with that in mind, what would the mixamp do for me, if anything?

So my main question is, since I have probably an average sound card (unsure of which I have) what performance limit should I expect to reach from purchasing expensive headsets? What do I lose?

Obviously being a gamer I want a quality mic, sturdy headset, and one that has clear and quality sound as well as the ability to help me hear where sounds are coming from ingame.

Any reply would be appreciated,

Thanks :)
