What would perform better (my motherboard (asus p3v4x) lets me run memory speeds independent of processor, i.e. i'm running a 100mhz fsb processor now, but my memory's running at 143mhz):
a 933mhz 133mhz fsb pentium III, or
a 1ghz 100mhz fsb pentium III?

I'm trying to decide which one to buy, help!

I'd go for the 933MHz (133x7.0), simply because with a good motherboard this chip could run at 980MHz (140x7.0) or 1015MHz (145x7.0) with a good cooler, and you wouldn't even notice any extra heat :)

With the 1015 setting you wouldn't even need to change the memory cos it already runs 1MHz below this speed.

The 1GHz processor is pretty much the limit for the coppermine process anyway, so there's not much overclocking potential - this was proved by Intel 1.13GHz PIII which was withdrawn :0

~ I'm not AMD biased, I just think their chips are better. ~

Lame excuse. The PIII 1GHz is available in both 100 and 133 flavors, called the E and EB. So your decision between the 933 and the 1GHz/100 based on performance is not valid-you should be compairing the PIII 1000E to the PIII 1000EB. The EB is usually cheaper and performs better.
