This is sort of a bet between my friend and me..

I have a tbird 1.2 ghz @ 1.3, 256 MB PC-133 SDRAM, and GeForce 2 Ultra 64MB

He just bought a Dell, with a 1.3 ghz P4, 256 MB PC600 RAM, and GeForce 2 MX 32MB

Now, he claims his computer he has a better gaming computer while I feel otherwise. What's your input?

Note: He actually gets higher FPS in Quake, which isn't too much of a surprise (i get something like 182 vs his 196). With this he is basically forming his case.

I'd be putting my money on you. In gaming your video card seems to be the bottle neck.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and most of them stink

Pump of the color depth and resolution in Quake 3, and the your system will kick your freinds systems ass. At 640x480x16 resolution you guys tested at (or else you wouldnt be getting 190 fps), the video cards arent working as hard as possible. But, once the color depth and resolution is high, the CPU is no longer the determining factor because a CPU doesn't really have to do any more work at 1600x1200 resolution than at 640x480. It's all video card. at 1600x1200 resolution at 32 bit color, yours will run fine while his will be unplayable.
