Wasn't sure which forum to put this in, but I am having a couple problems:
1.) No One Lives Forever used to run on my intel. But now I have an AMD and it always freezes if I ever try and put it past 648*480 (it runs fine at 640*480, but past this it messes up). I have the latest version of the game. Like I said, all I have done is switched to AMD and AMD mobo. No it wont run past this resolution. I have the latest via 4-in-1 drivers and vid card drivers as well. All of my other games run fine (ie Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex, Rainbow6, etc...)
My system is:
ABIT KT7A-Raid w/1.2GHz Athlon @ 133 FSB
256MB crucial DIMM 133MHz
TNT2 Ultra 32MB
Other system specs should be irrelevant. Remember it ran on this system before I switched to AMD (all I changed was ram/mobo/processor).
Also, on my other computer, which is:
Intel Pentium III 450 MHz, 128 MB RAM, Dual Voodoo2 12 MBs
Rogue Spear is at the latest version. When i try and it run it, it runs fine, and it goes through the level loading process, but then rigth before it loads the level (into the 3d part of the game), it freezes and will never go. I have tried this in software rendering, not using my 3D card, and it still won't go. I can't start it!! AHH!!
Can anyone help? Both systems are running Win ME.

Thanks

PS Rogue SPear runs fine on AMD, and No One Lives Forever runs fine on the Intel.

thats because of the POS AMD setup oh wait I'm not Fugger

NOLF runs just fine at 800 x 600 on my KT7-RAID. No problems at all. The difference may be in the video card - I have a Gforce2 MX. I am still using the 4.26 version of the 4 in 1 drivers.

Try this: reinstall the 4 in 1 drivers, but for the AGP driver, specify standard instead of turbo.

Thats because of the POS AMD setup.

GG Danny. you get what you pay for.

Nice that you didnt pay extra for that feature huh?

GL running down the problem, I guess you could count this as an extra cost of ownership. screws up that price/performance ratio.

What sound card you running? pull it out and try again. break your machine down and try each piece as you try to figure out whats wrong.

Some sound cards are known to cause all sorts of stupid problems and you may need new driver/patch.

"AMD doesnt have any incompatabilities"

Its not your processor at all

It must be the way you set it up
or your not using the correct drivers for your video card

Its something simplee-mail me if u ahve any questions k7power@usa.net

Yeah that must be it Fugger... so what about Rogue Spear not running on my Intel?

Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing Intel by saying that. It has nothing to do with the processor; NOLF runs fine on other people's AMDs, in fact NOLF is optimized for AMD. It has to do with my vid settings because it is a 3D rendering problem (runs @ 640*480, not higher).
Besides NOLF (which isn't a processor problem) I have had 0 issues with my system, and I have a LOT of software...

yeah, you MUST be right fugger...since my flatmates p3 600 has never been very stable and my duron 800@1016 runs absolutely rock stable. its always the processor isnt it fugger

i can run NOLF fine....its just something screwy in this guys system, prolly not his fault. god knows what it is.

good luck on getting it sorted out

Most video problems can be tracked down to the chipset/chipset dirvers. VIA has the maket cornered on chipset/chipset driver problems. Real PIII systems don't use VIA. At least with the introduction of the AMD 760 and ALI MAGiK1 chipsets AMD owners now have some choices.
