I agree, although looks really mean nothing. (unless you are doing a display computer, like a clear case, etc).

I wonder if I can get Mr Versace to design me a CPU. Then I could get Ms Arden to make it smell nice.

green pcb is ugly. black is the best, blue is 2nd. If hercules made black pcb for their video cards then that would be awsome cause then you could have all black!

Hercules video card, SB LIVE! Sound card (yes, they are black!), aopen (or whoever else will make it) mobo, and I think there is black SDRAM somehwere. dude that would be cool.

there is a very good reason why there is a green PCB board
instead of the athalon's ceramic.

to get the tightest possible fit between the CPU heat sink
and the CPU the P4 clips are strong and have alot of force,
to reduce heat

when you do this Ceramic can Crack or break or be damaged because of its brittle nature,,
the AMD's are nortorius for this and they have a fargile core.

the INTEL P4's are flexible slightly and can take alot more force.. sort of a cushion.
they are also easily repaired like a PCB, for damage etc..

also the PCB dissapated heat rather well
there is a reason and funtionality behind it..
the AMD uses older mounting technology and will likely switch soon
hope that helps

I've never heard of a case where the ceramic cracks.... only the core cracking a bit.

Okay, we have a clear case and an all-black interior.

Now we just need a miniature strobe light to go inside the case and find a way to time the strobe with WinAmp.

:)

Of course, for me, I don't care what the inside of my system LOOKS like, because my case isn't clear. As long as it performs well, that's all that matters to me.

Green, blue, black, puse, fucia, it doesn't matter when your case is metal painted beige. :)

Though one day when we switch to fiber-optic components, I'll have to get a clear case and splice in a few one-way optic cables so that when my computer runs it gives off a great light show. :)

The funny part is that computers have been beige for so long that I've actually grown to LIKE the color. I'd rather have a beige case than an iMac-esk case any day.

But then, who ever suggested that I'm sane?

yes and that is worse still,
cores are fragile compared to Pentium
especially P4 with new PCB
