Does the Q3A demo run the timedemo?

Hi,
I've only got the Quake 3 Arena demo. Can this run a timedemo? I type "timedemo 1" followed by "demo demo001" in the console but nothing happens. Please help.

You might not have demo001. After you type timedemo 1 in console, esc out and just try running the demo by clicking from the main screen (not in the console) whatever demoXXXX you have in there. Then after it runs go back to the console to see your results.
