Has anyone seen official documentation on how this chip varies from the 5600? I have only seen it in Dell laptops. I haven't been able to find anything on Dell or NVidia's websites.

I called Dell. They said the FX 5650 is the only version, that there is no 5600. They are tech idiots. I have called them 3 times about various things and gotten a wrong answer every time.
Download RivaTuner (Or Powerstrip, but use RivaTuner first, it is much more effective, and less prone to errors - PowerStrip doesn't like the powersaving features...)

Who's General Failure and why's he reading my disk?
Anandtech.com seems to have revealed the difference between the 5600 and the 5650. Apparantly the 5650 uses a "flipchip" design compared to the "wire bond" GPU design used in the 5600. This allows the GPU to run faster, and is the NV31M rather than the NV31 of the 5600.
