No. I am going to be buying 2 shortly and wanted to make sure I didn't need a special one since a friend of mine said he thought he remembered hearing something about it.

just make sure your CPU's are identical and you should be fine...

YES most definetely, they work great !
it is our most popular dual SMP configuration and
I have seen hundreds go out our doors without any problems

we usually use dual 1 GHZ P3's for many clients,who want alot of power in win 2k and they run cool, we stacked 28 of the 1U rack mount dual 1 ghz in one rack
at on ISP each with 2 hot swap 15,000 rom Ultra 160
HD's in each one !!! ran fine !

Intel said something about Slot1 1GHz not being garrunteed SMP compatable, but I think it was only because the conductors on their converter card (PIII slot ones are actually FC-PGA processors soldered on to a SECC2 card) were transimitting RFI and they thought there might be a cross-talk problem there. On the other hand, FC-PGA 1GHz were certified by Intel, and I have never heard of anyone having the problem mentioned with the Slot1 processors anyway.
