USB device not working

I have an acer laptop with 3 usb hubs at the back. It was working fine until this afternoon when i tried to plug in my flash drive..it says..one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it..can this problem be fixed??Please help!!
