trigger shutdown with power button

Hi,

could someone please tell me how I can trigger a shutdown using the case power button, I've seen it work on Dell and Gateway PCs, I've built my own PC but it doesn't work.

I have a MSI K7 Master Mobo with 1.4 Athlon.

Check the Advanced tab in Power Options (under Control Panel). Maybe you'll find something in there.

Just battery Icon in there. APM tab has APM support checked too. Any other bright ideas not sarcastic.

Go to Device Mananger (in System Properties) and expand the Computer branch. What's in there? Also, sift through the BIOS, and change settings you think might be a possibility...<i>one by one</i>.

(Sorry, I wish I had Windows 98 and no ACPI support, so I can help you...) :frown:

OK, well I expanded the computer and to my surprise, I actually have a "Standard PC" woohoo. I expanded the "System Devices" and got stuff like "Direct memory access controller" and "PCI Bus" etc...

Anything in particular that needs to be there?
