FSB, SB, 266, 133

Dear Friend,,
I'am littel confused with bus case. I need to learn more about it.
1. AMD-Athlon, some people say FSB=133 while i read on the CPU it is 266. What is the defferences exaclty & why they say it is 133?
2. is there any defferences betweem sysem Bus speed, Front Side Bus speed, bus speeds?
3. If the FSB 66, does this mean there is no binifits from using SDRAM-133?

yes, it's easy to get confused, lots of marketing....

the athlon's run at 100 or 133.
With amd's ev6 bus, it 'double pumps' (i hate that phrase) the 100 or 133 to 200 and 266 respectively.

So, to make it sound faster, they just say 200/266.
Although, to the user, it's running at 200/266, so the statement is truthful, depending on how you look at it.

As for the bus question, it's a little more complicated. When people refer to the system bus or FSB, they are refering the above mentioned 200/266 bus.

There are other busses in the system as well, such as the pci, agp,isa and memory busses. But these aren't refered to very much.

As for the fsb 66, that is really old (old celeron's, p2's and a few other chips).

There would be no benefit to using 133 sdram in a system running fsb 66. The ram would just "downclock" to 66.
But if you are buying brand new ram, you might as well get the 133 so you can use it if you plan to upgrade your motherboard in the near future. Also, I think 133 is cheaper than 66 as it is more avaliable.
