USB Device not Recognized::error

Hello,
USB Device not Recognized::error
while connecting my external hard disk,previously it was working fine

Install motherboard chipset support driver.

click start type
devmgmt.msc
then hit enter
scroll down to usb devices
right click on "unknown device" and select uninstall
unplug the drive and plug back in and windows will try to install
if it does not install it agian, go through the process of removing the unknown device agian and try a different usb port and plug it back in.
