What is the difference of HDMI Vs Display Port

I'm planning on getting two of these guys

for games that have a lot of spell detail, fast action, and in general gaming like WoW and other PC games(guild wars 2 mostly).

The graphics card i want to run the monitors off of will be

With HDMI ports im not sure if i should change the card up to a card with display ports.

Can i get more information on the differences?

Both are digital.

HDMI carries sound. Sometimes HDMI has issues with overscan or underscan. This can be adjusted, but can be a hassle.

Displayport supports higher resolutions and refresh rates (only matters if the monitor is 1440p or higher, or 120hz at 1080p).
