Is there anything different about the ways these computers are connected? Can you play Starcraft fine on the other two computers?

the only computers that play starcraft is my pc and my bros so the other one is actually my fathers. do i have to tweak my network settings to enable me to play with my bro online?

try running the server on your brothers computer and see if it says your computer has too high latency. is it a dsl/cable connection? if you are just trying to play with your brother in a local lan you can just start a lan server and not even bother with battle net. to do this you will have to install ipx.

i went to the tomshardware forums and all i got was this lousy signature.

- Right click on Network Neighborhood and select "Properties."
- Click on "Add"
- Select "Protocol" and click on "Add"
- On the left pane, select "Microsoft." On the right pane select "IPX..." then click OK

After that, it should install it and ask you to reboot your system. You might need the Windows CD ROM, but probably not
