Can I use a ATA Internal 250MB ZIP Drive in a 4700 SATA PC?

A friend bought a Dell 4700 minitower PC w/ SATA HDD. We want to install
the internal ATA drive from his four y/o Dimension PC.
Will the internal ATA ZIP drive work in the 4700 SATA PC?

There is room for only two (P)ATA devices. If he ordered two optical
drives, there is no room.

Not to split hairs, but technically the machine has the external 3.5" bay
for a ZIP, but as WSZsr said, two optical drives will negate any connection
to IDE2 as the cable has only two connectors, and the board only (1) IDE
controller - for the opticals.

Assuming you had only one optical, you're going to have to purchase at
minimum a lengthened data cable as the IDE2 cable isn't long enough (I don't
believe) to connect to an optical (in either the upper or lower 5.25" bay)
and then also to a zip in it's designed bay (which I believe is just below
the floppy drive).

Only one optical drive installed.
I'll pick up a longer IDE cable.
