Problems with my dell 3007wfp

Hello,
So i have a dell 3007WFP and wen i plug it into my computer witch is a dell inspiron N4110 with windows 7 the power button goes from blue to orange and nonthing will display on the screen?

How are you connecting the monitor to the laptop? Is the monitor detected in display proprties? Also if you do get it working you will only be able to use a 1280x800 resolution, the monitors native resolution of 2560x1600 requires a dual link dvi port which the laptop does not have.
