Can't acces some file

Hello,

I m using win7, i have an external hard drive and cannot open some PDF or Word file,
when i try to open them this message appear"Error opening file, access denied"
can somebody help please.

I instal and run the "TakeOwnership" software but still have trouble,
the software is succesfully instaled so when i right click and Take Ownership on a my file, and then I acces the properties of the file, right-click/Properties/Details, i can see the owner changes to Me (My PC)
but when i try to open it, the same Message"There is an error opening this file, Acces is denied"
I don't know what to do, I usually opened these files on my PC, but since I reinstaled the OS, this error appear. Orther remarqs: I can see the name of the files change from Black to Green. It this normal?

I don't really understand about the compatible viewer, all i know is that i usually used win7 and now I m' still on win7.

If the filename has changed from black to green lettering it means that the file has, or is, encrypted.

That being said if the file you are trying to open is green, you may not be able to unless your computer contains the original encryption key used when it was set that way.
