Replace Mashita UJ-868a

I am looking for a replacement internal DVD/CD RW drive for my MacBookPro laptop. The current drive is a Slimline Superdrive Matshita UJ-868a. The spindle doesn't spin up so I believe it is toast. I've have searched the web and can't find anyone with a suggestion as to what drive to buy to replace the original. Apple will fix it, but won't tell me what drive to use or sell me just the drive so I can install it Help!. Thanks!!!

I will refrain from taking the easy potshot at the closed Apple hardware infrastructure, and just say you need to remove the drive to get the full model number and connection type, then you can search for the replacement.
