Upon re-entering Elf:7 I got the message menioned in the subject line,
"You sense a powerful magical force warping space." What does it mean,
does anyone know?

You'll get a similar message on Zot:5. I believe it's a warning that
teleport control will not work until certain conditions are met. In the
case of Zot:5, this means possessing the Orb; in the case of Elf:7,
apparently the magical fountains must all be drained.
