Hello, I have a hp g6-2235us laptop and I just downgraded windows 8 to windows 7. Almost everything works fine but it didn't install any drivers for usb support or ethernet(but i'll never use the ethernet assuming the wifink) the drivern the hp site so i'm stumped.

Im having the same problem as the OP. I down graded the same exact notebook, and the same drivers don't load. Hp will not help cause I down graded. I loaded the win8 drivers but they cause conflict with the touch pad and left side usb ports. Everything is fine until I plug something in to the left usb ports, then the touch pad stops responding and the left ports don't work. The right port is fine all the time. The hp auto updater just gives me win 8 drivers. I need win7 drivers. Anyone got any idea's here?

OK. Here is the solution for this laptop

Download this from AMD and install
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows+7+-+64#amd-catalyst-packages

if that doesn't work, this does for sure

Download the driver from Dell
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverid=0XNDG

I did the Dell driver first so it works 100%

For those that like tech stories, here is how I found the driver. It all falls back to the old saying RTFM!!!

So a client dropped off this laptop wanting me to set it all up for his son with Skype, Office, AV, updates, etc. I talk to his son and he doesn't like Windows 8. No problem, I wipe the drive, install W7Pro and bam no drivers.

Spent about an hour searching, reading, came to Tom's Hardware, thought SCORE! Wrong. So kept searching. According to HP's Maintenance and service guide, the motherboard can use one of the following two chipsets
* AMD A70M FCH
* AMD A68M FCH

OK. No problem, went to AMD.com and downloaded this

Have no clue how I got to it. It did a great job of installing the graphics driver but still no chipset.

Searched for the chipset by name and found this on Dell's website

Downloaded the file and saved it as a last resort. Got tired of searching AMD so installed it. Boom, it worked.

Found this on AMDs website as well. I downloaded and ran it and uses Catalyst 8 instead of Catalyst 3 (like Dell). This has Chipset and USB 3 drivers which seems to be what everyone is complaining about. Also, this is the official and latest (hopefully) driver.

Kindly assist mw with the drivers for the ethernet port and PCI Device. I use a HP Pavilion g4-2320dx.
