Okay, so recently I have been searching for a gaming laptop under 1,000$. I found an ASUS laptop for 1.2k(1.3 w/tax) on best buy's website, but that will be my last resort if nothing I want is available.

However, considering all the laptop companies, I want to know which ones to stay away from before a product is re-certified and after. Does it matter which company I buy the laptop from if it has been re-certified?
I recently when on newegg and found some laptops that may run games that I want to play. (MMORPGS like Guild Wars 2(When it comes out), and Aika Online. Some companies I have not heard of are, lenovo and msi.

Some of the msi reviews are pretty good. Not too many people review or purchase lenovo though....

Here is a msi laptop that I am considering purchasing so I can play Guild Wars 2 when it's released.(plan to play on high settings)

Here is a TOSHIBA laptop.

Which one of these 3 do you think is worth their price. Consider performance in gaming on Medium High to High Graphics. Thanks!

I don't know much about graphic cards for laptops or desktops. How do I know which NVIDIA cards are good, and how do I know which ATI cards are good?

Hello zentrility;
You have of course done your due diligence and studied the Open Box / Recertified laptop Return & Refund Policies and/or Warranty length?
Have you looked at the NewEgg 'egg ratings' for those laptops? Read the customer comments? (hint; look at similar models in the listings - you won't find feedback on the open box/refurb listings)
Googled for laptop reviews? Example: Asus UL80J-BBK5 @ c/Net: Asus UL80J-BBK5

I did look into what the open box thing was. It says that they aren't responsible for sending any missing components.(From what I understand)
Does this mean I could possibly get the laptop without a charger? I have read tons of reviews, looked at the EGG ratings, but only 1 customer has given the Windows 7 Experience Index Ratings for a laptop. I probably spent about 3 hours yesterday and a few hours other days browsing the web for a gaming laptop. But I'm just not so sure which one I should get.

If you guys know of any gaming laptops that are below 1,000$ and can play MMORPGS on high settings, please link them here so I may research those laptops as well and add them into my bookmarks for reference. Thanks! :D

What I would like to know is if that laptop overheats or not. >.< I don't want a laptop that gets passed a warm temperature.
