I saw on a couple sites that the Palomino is going to be released early Q3 this year and will have a couple new features, those being advanced branch prediction and hardware-prefetching.
First of all, what are they and how will they benefit, and how much.
Do you think it's worth waiting for or should I just get a fast AXIA, a friend has a 1333 running cool at 1462.
If you need (want) it now, buy it now. When you wait 6 months for the latest and greatest, the next latest and greatest is only another 6 months away. Do you keep waiting and buy nothing?
I would recomend that you wait for the Palomino if you can still use (and be happy with) your current system for another few months. If you can't, then get your AXIA now.

I am waiting on Palomino (or Intels next release) to replace my aging Celeron 450. Right now, it still does its job, so I can wait.
AMD seems to have found a working formula with great performance and affordable price. If they continue this way, it would be nice to see the Palomino debut at the current TBird prices. By then, the TBirds should have dropped another 20 percent or so.
It doesn't look likely that Intel will release anything for the home user with great performance and affordability. A shame.
All guess work only, pure speculation.
