Pertaining to previous memo's regarding problems with
file and printer sharing when connected through the MN-
700 Wireless-G base station. Desktop and laptop both
running XP-SP2. Was able to do file sharing and printer
sharing in June '04. Suddenly no longer working. After
many hours and following numerous leads have been able to
make file sharing work. Disable Norton A/V and the
firewall on the desktop and the laptop. Run the SoHo
setup on the desktop. Disable firewall again. Run SoHo
setup on the laptop. Disable firewall on the laptop.
File sharing now works. Can enable A/V if desired at
this point, but will have to go thru same procedure next
time you reboot your machines.

Did you enable the exception for File and Print Sharing in your SP2's
firewall settings?

Yes, those parameters seemed to be enabled automatically
by the SoHo (network) setup utility. I haven't followed
through testing all various parameter on/off scenarios to
zero in on the true culprit yet. Was elated just to get
sharing working again. Will report additional findings
as they are discovered.
