Lg Flatron e2041 problems

My monitor suddenly stopping working in the following way:
the on/off switch seems t function, still turns off and when on flashes blue.
when it turns on it briefly shows the square panel with "d-sub power saving mode" and then goes dark.
when any of the other buttons are pushed there is either no response or the same "d-sub power saving mode" flashes again briefly. It has worked flawlessly for the past 8 months or so...any ideas?

Are you sure it's the monitor and not the PC? Did you try another monitor or the monitor with another computer?

That helped! I put it on another computer and it lit up so I could reset the power-saving mode -- and now it's all working on my first machine. I have no idea how I happened to mess it up, but at least now it's all running and I know what to do if it happens again. Thank you!
