Okay I have a AMD T-bird 800mhz system that was built for me and was overclocked to 1ghz when I got it. It was unstable and I set the BIOS back to the default. After purchasing and running Norton Systemworks, I have now got my system to where it is stable and would now like to try to overclock it again. What settings do I need to change to speed up the CPU speed?

ABIT KT7
AMD TBird 800
256MB/133 RAM
Voodoo 5 5500 Video
ATI TV Card
300 W PS
Some cheap piece of crap sound card

I am new at this and appreciate the help.

First of all, you got to close the L1 bridges on the CPU.
After, you can modify the multiplier in the BIOS.
If you don't want to mess with the pencil trick (to close the bridges), you can always increase the FSB frequency to raise your CPU speed. The FSB can be modified at anytime but you gotta close these bridges in order to modify the multiplier. Take a few moments to make some search on the subject before coming back with another questions. Good reading !
